Whether it be situational crises, life transitions, employment related difficulties or chronic mental health conditions, trying to manage stress alone can be difficult.

The first step in the change process is recognizing the need for support. When you contact Renewal Comprehensive you will be connected with a caring therapist who will help you identify presenting concerns and set goals that will guide the treatment process.

Marriage Counseling

Couples counseling is designed to foster healthier, more resilient relationships leading to greater intimacy and stronger bonds. With professional support you can learn how to meet your partner’s needs, obtain the fulfillment that you are seeking while also learning new ways of communicating.

During the course of any long-term relationship there can be periods of intense conflict and emotional fatigue which threaten the couple’s future together. When infidelity, or an affair, occurs couples often struggle with how to navigate the pain and emotional volatility that often ensues.

Sometimes these issues can feel insurmountable. In the immediate aftermath of an affair couples often require support with de-escalation, managing their emotions, and determining next steps. Couples counseling provides a safe, supportive, structured environment where each person’s contribution to the current state of the relationship is examined. Together with your therapist you will also explore patterns of behavior, communication challenges and personal needs that have proven to be problematic.

Your therapist will assess each partners’ willingness and interest in restoring the relationship or pursuing another course of action. For couples who determine that they are invested in restoring their relationship, a therapist will aid you in acquiring the skills needed to re-connect with your partner, re-build trust, resolve conflicts and re-kindle the intimacy that may have decreased over the years.

The good news is that you don’t have to face these challenges alone. Some of the issues that are frequently the source of underlying couples conflict include:

  • Addictions
  • Breeches of Trust
  • Career Issues
  • Caregiving Responsibilities
  • Divergent Goals
  • Empty Nesting
  • Extended Family Conflict
  • External Influences
  • Family Crises
  • Finances
  • Grief/Loss
  • Health Challenges
  • Infidelity
  • Intimate Partner Violence
  • Non-productive Communication
  • Parenting
  • Relationship Fatigue
  • Sexual Intimacy/Sexual Dysfunction
  • Unaddressed Mental Health or Substance Abuse Needs
  • Unmet Emotional Needs

Let our talented therapists at Renewal Comprehensive Service support you in resolving long standing problems and seemingly irreconcilable differences to improve the outlook for your future as a couple.

Therapy conducted via internet is growing in its use and has comparable success rates as in-person counseling. Therapists are legally able to provide counseling services only in States where they are licensed. Renewal Comprehensive Services offers telehealth services to clients that reside in Illinois.

Remote Counseling ServicesTelehealth (remote) counseling services provide opportunities for clients to meet with a licensed therapist via live video. This is an appealing option for individuals who live great distances from the office, those who may have other transportation barriers, or for those with limited schedule flexibility. Clients are pre-screened to determine if this mode of counseling aligns with their clinical needs.

Telehealth video services are conducted using a secure, HIPPA compliant platform which offers bank-level encryption and security. To begin telehealth services, you will need either a computer, iPad, smartphone or tablet that has both a camera and microphone. A stable internet connection is also required to support your device. Prior to your first appointment you may test your equipment with the secure platform to determine if it meets these requirements.

Trauma Counseling

Counseling for Survivors of Sexual Assault and Domestic (Intimate Partner) Violence

Sexual assault and domestic violence (interpersonal violence) are traumatic experiences that require professional support during the recovery process. Early intervention can aid survivors in beginning to feel safe and supported immediately following the traumatic experience. For traumas that are less recent, receiving compassionate support, being provided with the opportunity to express emotions and being guided through each step in the recovery process can be key to restoring emotional wellness. Recovery outcomes are best for individuals that are provided with opportunities to process their feelings related to the trauma experience.

If you, or someone you know, are a survivor of sexual assault, domestic (intimate partner) violence help is available.
